The Alaskan true cod, also known as Pacific cod, is sustainably harvested in the Bering Sea and the Aleutian Islands. It is highly popular in the lower 48 because of its mild flavor and firm, flaky texture. The Pacific Cod is closely related to the Atlantic cod, but it is leaner, sweeter, and slightly whiter; it is also more tender because of its higher moisture content. True Cod is an excellent low-fat protein source that is high in niacin, B12, and Omege-3’s.
